Why I’m Paid Less Than My Manager

Now I understand why I’m paid so much less than my manager(s)!

Postulate 1: Knowledge is Power.

Postulate 2: Time is Money.

As every engineer knows, Power = Work/Time

Since Knowledge = Power, and Time = Money, we have Knowledge = Work/Money

Solving for Money, we get: Money = Work/Knowledge

Thus, as Knowledge approaches zero, Money approaches infinity regardless of the Work done.

Conclusion: The Less you Know, The More you Make.

I like comment number 8 at the site from someone named Christophe; “This also demonstrates the superiority of intelligent design over science: you don’t need any knowledge to perform efficiently, but you need an engineer/scientist to demonstrate it!”

Brilliant.

I believe it. My boss (Head of I.T) often submits trouble tickets for one of us to come install a new DVD Drive or troubleshoot what might be wrong with his network connection.

My new boss submits tickets, too, but usually because he hears from other managers about things that need doing that no one tells us about. For a while he also submitted tickets purely about his own computer but that was because he wanted to experience it as a normal user would without admin privs.

Honestly, I have no issue with any of my previous bosses (except one…). It’s usually my friend’s bosses that I have to wonder how these people ever escaped Darwin Awards.
