Net Neutrality Idiots
I’m going to ignore the whole issue of the “Net Neutrality” political crapshoot that’s happening in DC right now and instead focus on one of the idiots who is supposed to be educated enough to make wise and informed decisions on the subject.
His name is Senator Ted Stevens (R-Alaska) and I’m focusing on him not because he’s a Republican, because the Democrats might actually be more stupid on this topic, but because… well, just read.
I just the other day got, an internet was sent by my staff at 10 o’clock in the morning on Friday and I just got it yesterday. Why?Because it got tangled up with all these things going on the internet commercially.
I’m going out on a limb to guess that instead of “internet” he meant “email”. And if his email didn’t arrive pretty much instantaneously then it has a lot to do with his email server and not streaming video. Especially since he and his staff should be on the same local email server. He goes on to talk about the Department of Defense’s separate network.
Now we have a separate Department of Defense internet now, did you know that?Do you know why?
Because they have to have theirs delivered immediately. They can’t afford getting delayed by other people.
Gee, I thought we had a separate DoD network for, perhaps, security? Reliability? And wasn’t it implemented long before the civilian consumer internet became widely commercialized?
This guy has no sense of history, no sense of the facts, probably no sense of reality. We need to get someone in government who knows WTF they are talking about instead of hearing it second hand from lobbyists. We can’t afford to move on in this new century being led by people whose heads are still in mid-20th century technology.

Hmmm…spelling and grammar of about the same caliber as gwb’s. More proof that even those children who were obviously ‘left behind’ by the U.S. educational system can grow up to become sucessful politicians and heads of state.
But I don’t hold out much hope for them figuring out the difference between ‘internet’ and ‘email’ anytime soon. These goobers are likely still awed by touch-tone telephone service.

Yeah, there are a lot of morons out here in DC-land. Unfortunately, a lot of them come from other places, but then I guess I can’t blame people for wanting to export their morons. I just wish they’d do it by some other means than electing them to office.
Somewhere in Alaska, a village is missing its idiot.

Wade! So good to hear from you; I’d actually been thinking of emailing you. I think I still will.
Yes, it is very frustrating that there are so many clueless people in power in DC and in many state and municipal governements. Unfortunately I don’t see a way out of it unless people like us run for office. Of course we aren’t exportable, so we probably wouldn’t get elected…
