Maverick’s
Why -oh why!- do the waves break big during weekdays? Today (yesterday as many of you will read this tomorrow) they called in the Maverick’s competition. This is one of the biggest big wave surfing competitions in the world. I have yet to witness the monster waves.
Thanks goodness for the internet, though. SFGate.com have pictures and video as well as a nice summary of the day. Congratulations to Grant Baker of South Africa for winning. I can’t imagine ever being on waves this large, but I’ll always be impressed by people who make it a reality.
