Oreo Cookie Song

Ah, the memories. Eating Oreos as a kid, twisting them apart to get the cream first, then eating the cookie parts in one mouthful. This apparently make me a criminal. There are many lyrics to the song on the web, some of them not so nice, but the one Mookee always sang while I thumped out the bass line went something like this:

Oh with some ice cream and an Oreo cookie
They forever go together it’s a chocolate combination
Something something something something something something or other
Something something something something
O R E O.

Kudos to anyone who can get the lyrics right!

    “Ice cold milk” could have been ice cream, now that I think of it.

    Oreo Cookie Blues
    The song I like is the Oreo Cookie Blues by (iirc) Lonnie Mack (the version I have also has SRV on it, iirc). I first heard it when my cousin played it at my aunt and uncle’s house one Thanksgiving. Goes something like:

    Chocolate on my fingers, icing on my lips
    sugar diabetes and blubber on my hips
    I keep the nightlight burning in the kitchen
    so I can go downstairs and cruise
    I got the Oreo Cream Sandwich
    Choclate covered cream filled cookie blues

    Google turns up alot of songs with Oreo cookies mentioned, but I couldn’t really find anything relating to the actual lyrics aside from this page (search for “oreo” on the page) which is very similar to Jason’s lyrics. It would be nice if someone had the official lyrics. I wonder if Nabisco has shut down any sites that have the actual lyrics?

    SUCH A SWEET CREAMY JINGLE
    This song is so sweet, the cookie almost has to measure up to the song!!! The melody and words are so simply wonderful and very mentally pleasing to me. I appreciate the talent behind this jingle; give me (us) more - RIGHT NOW!!!

    on july 4th me and my causin (really good friends) elijah tried out for the oreo cookie jingle contest in miami florida bay front park were the free concert also was and so we got in line tried out, we were the 6th ones in line we tried out and then 50 other people tried out and at the end tthey called out who was going to be the winners and so the lady said destiny and elijah and as soon as they said da i new we won and me and elijah screamed ! and i fell to the grown and cried and thenwe had to sing the song again and we broke the song down good and everybody was smiling but some were sad and i gave shoutouts to everybody i knew ! and a few weeks later we get a package from the oreo people that we will be getting the money in L.A and they gave us so many oreo cookies that i still have oreos from this day on well for all you that tried out nice job !

    Janette, I’m not sure I remember that part, but maybe… you said it’s the ending? I remember the ending as the big O-R-E-O spelled out. Or was this something that was sung after that,kinda fading out? I think I sorta remember something like that, but it’s been a long time. The other renditions I see on the page match my lyrics, within a word or two.

    I think there were also a couple of other variations. For example, Dugh’s original post mentioned ice cream, not ice cold milk. Was there such a version? I can’t recall. I’m also pretty sure there was another that started “Who’s that kid with an Oreo cookie?”, but I can’t recall any more than that.

    Me and my friends used to sing it all the time to one of those hand slapping games (like Miss Mary Mack)….Who remembers doing those? My niece (age 7) and I do them all the time, and I just googled the song so I could get all the words right. Thanks, Jack Clark, for all the lyrics. My niece thanks you, too. We also used to do it to the TAB song—

    I didn’t look up the kraft site, but remember another verse, or another commerical maybe, that goes something like:

    Who’s that kid with the Oreo cookie/
    bitin down the crunchy choc’late, licking up the creamy middle/
    something something something something/
    like he did when he was little
    It’s hard to hide the kid in side when you’re crunchin’ an O R E O.

    (I have just realized someone posted this verse earlier but I’m leaving it anyway)

    On a side note there was an Oreo cookie jingle contest that was won last year by a Sweet Adelines quartet. Still waiting for the commerical to come out.
