Political Leaders Blogging
Much humor has been had by blogs pretending to be various world leaders like Kim Jong Il and George W Bush. At long last, however, a real blog by a real political leader has surfaced. Although not a name you would know, Dutch Finance Minister Gerrit Zalm is blogging about things he is allowed to write about publicly. Read more here.
I think it would be great if a few of our better known leaders blogged. Imagine reading daily doses from people who actually mattered to us, who supposedly represent us. I think a few of them would not maintain their offices so long if they were required to everyday post what they did. “Today I played golf, had lunch with the entertainment lobby, and decided I would go on vacation at taxpayer expense next week.” Lovely.
Are blogs from political leaders a good idea on a voluntary basis? Is that something you’d be interested in reading?
