World History Outline

This is a general historical outline for a world building project of mine.

A History of the World in Outline

  1. Life evolves on Earth.
  2. Life evolves on Moon.
  3. Elves evolve on Earth.
  4. Proto-Yosh
  5. Early Elvish civilization.
    1. Ten Commandments.
    2. City-States.
  6. Technological Elvish civilization.
    1. Gate Technology.
    2. Nanite technology.
      1. Respond to amplified brain waves.
    3. Colonize Moon.
  7. Man arrives on the planet.
    1. Over time they revert to a feral state.
    2. Learn Elvish culture (10 Commandments) and language.
  8. Neighboring planet’s moon destroyed in war there.
    1. The “gods” are some fluid entities with hive minds.
    2. The “gods” (exiles from the destroyed moon) find refuge on the planet.
  9. A meteor impact (from destroyed moon).
    1. most of the Elvish population escapes to the Moon.
    2. Geological disaster.
    3. Prolonged nuclear winter.
    4. As an assurance, some Elves depart in ships to find other planets to settle.
  10. Nanites start permeating Earth.
  11. Civilization on Moon.
    1. Moves steadily away from science/technology and towards religion/spirituality.
    2. Nanites permeate Moon. Elves evolve ability to control Nanites unaided.
    3. Because of lower gravity, Elves evolve taller.
    4. Because the Moon is mostly vegetation, Elves evolve and revolve their culture around it.
  12. On Earth, continents drift apart.
    1. Human and Ghaul populations begin to specialize.
      1. Humans remaining much as expected.
      2. Ghauls evolve great strength and blood need.
    2. Some few evolve ability to mentally control Nanites.
  13. Primitive humanity begins to worship the “gods”.
    1. The “gods” start to adapt to Humanity’s image of them.
    2. Elves do not worship these “gods”.
  14. Fate of Elves on the Earth.
    1. On the “magic” continent, Elves revert to a feral state, specialize and evolve along different paths.
      1. Grey Elves.
      2. Dark Elves.
      3. Feral Elves (see below).
      4. Dwarves.
      5. Others
    2. Elves on the Human continent are bred in.
      1. Elvish genes slightly change nature of certain bloodlines.
      2. A few Elvish clans remain isolated, grow more feral.
    3. On the Ghaul continent, Elves are eradicated.
      1. Ghaulish mythology mentions them.
  15. A Gate is discovered on the Moon.
    1. Interest in Science rises, but controversy ensues.
    2. Luddites persecute the dangerous “sect” and drive them to the Earth, then destroy the Gate.
    3. The refugees become “High” Elves.
  16. The High Elves (returners from Moon) teach those on their continent.
    1. Various wars erupt between the magical races eventually “unifying” the continent.
  17. Human and Elves reestablish contact.
    1. Tentative trade and exchanges, with some wars.
  18. Contact is made between Ghaul and Human.
    1. Mostly fighting.
  19. Twin “gods” are born, the first of their kind.
    1. Because of their hive nature, the twins polarize the “gods”.
    2. A War of the Gods ensues.
      1. The “gods” using Humans and Ghauls to fight.
      2. The “gods” draw the Elvish populations into the fight.
    3. Human and Ghaulish cultures mostly destroyed. Elvish civilization not much better.
  20. Dark Ages.
    1. The “gods” withdraw from direct contact with their “peoples” and most seem to vanish.
    2. A few become centers for various cultures, such as the case of Nike and Praha.
